Ingredients: – 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour – 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder – 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar – 2 tsp baking powder – 1 tsp baking soda
– 1 tsp salt – 2 large egg – 1 cup milk – 1/2 cup vegetable oil – 2 tsp vanilla extract – 1 cup boiling water
For the Frosting: – 1 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1 1/2 cups Nutella – 3-4 cups powdered sugar – 1/4 cup heavy cream – 1 tsp vanilla extract
For Assembly: – Fresh strawberries, sliced – Additional Nutella for drizzling (optional) – Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Whisk together dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and mix until combined. Stir in boiling water.
Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. For frosting, beat butter until creamy. Add Nutella, powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
Once cakes are cooled, assemble: Frost one cake layer, add sliced strawberries, place second layer on top. Frost top and sides of cake.
Optional: Drizzle with additional Nutella and garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder. Serve and enjoy!
